A moment of pride for KR Narayanan National Institute of Visual Science and Arts!
We are thrilled to announce that our student short film “URA” has been officially shortlisted in the Student category of the prestigious Sony Future Filmmaker Awards 2025!
Directed by Sruthil Mathew, with cinematography by Muhammed Ashfaque, editing by Vipin Varghese, and audiography by Vaisakh Sankar, this achievement places “URA” among the top 30 shortlisted films selected from over 11,750 submissions by 7,500 filmmakers across 158 countries and territories.
This global recognition is a testament to the hard work, creativity, and passion of our talented students and mentors, positioning KRNNIVSA on the international map of filmmaking excellence.
The winners will be announced at a grand awards ceremony on June 5, 2025, at Sony Pictures Studios, Culver City, California, USA. The cinematographer of the film, final year student Shri Muhammed Ashfaque, will travel to the USA for the festival.
