The Acting Diploma Film Project, directed by Mr. Sharan Venugopal, marks a significant milestone in the Acting Department’s academic journey at KRNNIVSA. Conceived as the culminating creative exercise for acting students, the diploma film serves as a comprehensive performance-based evaluation, integrating artistic, technical, and collaborative disciplines of filmmaking.
Through this project, acting students translated their intensive training in acting into screen performance, demonstrating deep character research, emotional authenticity, and physical control. The process was designed to simulate professional film production conditions, allowing students to collaborate closely with peers from Direction, Cinematography, Audiography, Editing, and Art Direction.
The project began with rehearsals and scene work months in advance, followed by principal photography between September 25 and October 2, 2025. Each phase tested the students’ adaptability, creativity, and commitment to both realistic and stylized acting techniques.
The experience proved transformative for the acting students, enhancing their understanding of character continuity, ensemble performance, and on-camera discipline while marking the successful completion of a key academic and artistic milestone.
