Mini MIFF (Mumbai International Film Festival) – 2019

The Mini MIFF – a regional screening initiative of the Mumbai International Film Festival – was successfully conducted at K. R. Narayanan National Institute of Visual Science and Arts (KRNNIVSA) on August 22, 2019, in collaboration with the Department of Script Writing and Direction.

The event was graced by esteemed guests including renowned film critic Dr. I. Shanmughadas, acclaimed cinematographer and filmmaker Mr. Sunny Joseph, and respected academic and film enthusiast Mr. Mohankumar. Their presence elevated the screening and discussions with valuable insights into documentary and short film practices in India.

The festival attracted a vibrant and diverse audience comprising students from other departments, campuses, and film enthusiasts from outside the institute, making the event both educational and community-engaging. A curated selection of documentaries and short films from MIFF's official lineup was showcased, followed by thoughtful discussions and interactions.

The Mini MIFF at KRNNIVSA served as a significant platform to encourage documentary appreciation and critical film discourse among emerging filmmakers and students.

മിനി മിഫ് (മുംബൈ ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ ഫിലിം ഫെസ്റ്റിവൽ) – 2019

മുംബൈ ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ ഫിലിം ഫെസ്റ്റിവലിന്റെ ഒരു പ്രാദേശിക പ്രദർശന സംരംഭമായ മിനി മിഫ് 2019 ഓഗസ്റ്റ് 22 ന് കെ. ആർ. നാരായണൻ നാഷണൽ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് വിഷ്വൽ സയൻസ് ആൻഡ് ആർട്‌സിൽ (കെ.ആർ.എൻ.ഐ.വി.എസ്.എ) സ്ക്രിപ്റ്റ് റൈറ്റിംഗ് ആൻഡ് ഡയറക്ഷൻ വകുപ്പുമായി സഹകരിച്ച് വിജയകരമായി നടത്തി.

പ്രശസ്ത ചലച്ചിത്ര നിരൂപകൻ ഡോ. ഐ. ഷൺമുഖദാസ്, പ്രശസ്ത ഛായാഗ്രാഹകനും ചലച്ചിത്ര നിർമ്മാതാവുമായ ശ്രീ. സണ്ണി ജോസഫ്, ബഹുമാനപ്പെട്ട അക്കാദമിക്, ചലച്ചിത്ര പ്രേമിയായ ശ്രീ. മോഹൻകുമാർ എന്നിവരുൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള വിശിഷ്ടാതിഥികൾ പരിപാടിയിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തു. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഡോക്യുമെന്ററി, ഷോർട്ട് ഫിലിം രീതികളെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വിലപ്പെട്ട ഉൾക്കാഴ്ചകൾ നൽകി അവരുടെ സാന്നിധ്യം പ്രദർശനത്തെയും ചർച്ചകളെയും ഉയർത്തി.

മറ്റ് വകുപ്പുകളിൽ നിന്നും കാമ്പസുകളിൽ നിന്നുമുള്ള വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളും ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ടിന് പുറത്തുള്ള ചലച്ചിത്ര പ്രേമികളും ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന ഊർജ്ജസ്വലവും വൈവിധ്യപൂർണ്ണവുമായ പ്രേക്ഷകരെ ഫെസ്റ്റിവൽ ആകർഷിച്ചു, ഇത് പരിപാടിയെ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസപരവും സമൂഹത്തിൽ ഇടപഴകുന്നതും ആക്കി മാറ്റി. മിഫ്ഫിന്റെ ഔദ്യോഗിക ലൈനപ്പിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ഡോക്യുമെന്ററികളുടെയും ഷോർട്ട് ഫിലിമുകളുടെയും തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത ശേഖരം പ്രദർശിപ്പിച്ചു, തുടർന്ന് ചിന്തനീയമായ ചർച്ചകളും ഇടപെടലുകളും നടന്നു.

വളർന്നുവരുന്ന ചലച്ചിത്ര പ്രവർത്തകർക്കും വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്കും ഇടയിൽ ഡോക്യുമെന്ററി ആസ്വാദനവും വിമർശനാത്മക ചലച്ചിത്ര സംവാദവും പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള ഒരു പ്രധാന വേദിയായി KRNNIVSA-യിലെ മിനി MIFF പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.
