Post Graduate Diploma in Acting
Acting course provides a comprehensive foundation for aspiring actors. Students learn script analysis, audition techniques, scene study, and character development through different acting methodology with a focus on the unique demands of acting for the camera. Through hands-on experience and expert guidance, with workshops and interactions actors gain the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the film industry.

The course brings out the true potential of a talented and dedicated student, makes him adaptable to the technicalities of film shooting and hence to pursue a career as a professional Actor. It explores the range of Acting for Film. The Stanslavisky ‘system’ acts as fundamental of Acting practice and students are introduced to later approaches like Michael Chekhov and Strasberg‘s method as well.
Vocal and physical training with specialist skill tutors supported by improvisation sessions throughout the training provide the flexibility, technique and versatility to excel in any performance forms. Coordinated exercises with other departments viz. Direction, Cinematography, and Audio provide the flexibility to modify the programme according to the requirement of the student.
Physical training sessions enables the actor to enrich flexibility and adaptability in acting. Projects attached with workshops wherever possible in each semester helps a student to work productively.
Semester end projects equip the student to be more contusive with technically created cinematic environments.
Directors, Actors, writers, Artists and Performers, provide professional insights from their own experiences and allow opportunities for the students to develop links to profession throughout their training. The three years of unique and personal training with outstanding facilities enables one for a sustainable and varied career.

Course Overview
Acting for Film is a comprehensive course designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the film industry. The course focuses on the unique demands of acting for the camera and provides students with hands-on experience in front of the camera.
Course Objectives
The course aims to develop a deeper understanding of the acting process and its application in film.
Students will learn how to analyze scripts and prepare for auditions, understand how to work with directors, cinematographers, and other crew members, develop skills in improvisation, scene study, and character development, and learn how to adapt to different film genres, styles, and formats.
Course Outline
The course is divided into six semesters starting with an introduction to acting for film, covering the basics of the film medium and the role of the actor. It focuses on script analysis and audition techniques. It explores scene study and character development, showing students how to break
down scenes and analyze character motivations. It covers working with the camera, teaching students how to understand camera angles, lighting, and movement through skilled workshops. It introduces improvisation and physicality, developing students for screen acting. It examines film
genres and styles, teaching students how to adapt to different genres and styles.
Course Format
Classes will be held on specific days and times, with each class lasting a certain number of hours.
Students will participate in lectures, discussions, and practical exercises.
Assessment
Student assessment will be based on participation and attendance, practical exercises and scene work, written assignments and reflections, and a final project.
