Jyothirmayi N is an acting and voice coach, theatre practitioner and research scholar currently working as assistant professor in Acting at K.R Narayanan National Institute of Visual Science and Arts, Thekkumthala, Kottayam. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Multimedia from M.G University, Kottayam and post-graduation in Theatre Arts from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady. She joined Intercultural Theatre Institute (ITI, Singapore) for three years professional diploma in Intercultural Theatre Acting. After completing it she perused M.Phil in Theatre Arts from M.G University, Kottayam. Now she is a part – time research scholar at School of Drama and Fine Arts, University of Calicut.
Jyothirmayi has presented paper in International Theatre Conference - 2020 organized by School of Drama and Fine Arts on the topic ‘Acting Training: Methods, Traditions and Application’ on ‘When will your voice released to have an Open Voice’. She has also participated the Symposium in collaboration with The Institute for Interweaving Performance Cultures of Freie Universität, Berlin, December 2013. Theme for symposium - ‘Actor Training: Intercultural and Interdisciplinary Perspectives’.
She has nine years of experience in teaching and training actors in theatre and media students across Kerala. She is a recipient of Diamond Jubilee Fellowship for Young Artists in Acting (2018 -2021) from Directorate of Culture, Government of Kerala.
She has directed eight plays which includes The Chairs, Yerma, Ashad Ka Ek Din, Thevarude Aana, Chakkeechankaram, The Mask etc and she acted in more than ten plays like Pericles: The Prince of Tyre, Iruvattam Manavatti and Invisibility etc.
