Associate Professor

Department of Acting

With over 30 years of expertise in acting, directing, designing, and actor training, he has built a career that blends artistry and education. His journey began at the Abhinaya Theatre Research Center in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, where he served as Artistic Director for 14 years, contributing to over 50 major productions and participating in prestigious festivals such as the Avignon Festival, Edinburgh International Festival, and World Theatre Festival in Brisbane.

He holds postgraduate degrees in Theatre Arts (Direction) from Pondicherry University and the School of Drama, University of Calicut. He is a member of the K.R. Narayanan National Institute of Visual Science and Arts since it's inception, where he served as Associate Professor and Acting Department Head (in charge) for seven years. His efforts shaped the institute’s growth through industry-aligned curricula and innovative projects.

As an actor trainer, he has trained acclaimed actors, including National Award winner Surabhi Lakshmi, and guided numerous actors and acting students who excel in Malayalam cinema. He also served as an acting coach for Malayalam films. His directorial works, including the play Court Martial, selected for the Theatre Olympics, has enhanced institutional and national recognition.

Recognized with awards such as the Samskruthi Foundation National Award and Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy Special Jury Award, he has collaborated with global organizations like the Brisbane Powerhouse, Ibsen Foundation, and Alliance Française to create acclaimed productions like Macbeth and Siddhartha.

He also attended international theatre festivals including  Avignon - France ,Edinburgh -Scotland, Brisbane- Australia, Almada - Portugal.

As an educator, he is committed to nurturing talent, promoting professionalism, and advancing the performing arts.
