The Department of Acting conducted an intensive one-day interaction program titled “Mastering Auditions & Understanding the Casting Process” on June 4, 2025. The session was led by renowned casting director and theatre practitioner Shri Ajithlal Sivalal, Founder of Space of Act Theatre Collective and an actor in regional language films.
The workshop provided acting students with real-world insights into the casting ecosystem, covering key areas such as audition techniques, self-presentation, portfolio development, and legal and ethical aspects of the industry. Designed as a practical learning experience, the program also addressed the nuances of networking, director expectations, and the use of digital platforms for self-promotion. Shri Ajithlal’s multi-disciplinary experience in theatre, film, and casting brought depth and relatability to the session, bridging academic training with industry realities.
