Acclaimed animation filmmaker, educator, and beloved KRNNIVSA Academic Council member and syllabus committee chairperson, Department of Animation and VFX , Ms. Nina Sabnani, is set to be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the upcoming 18th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK).
The prestigious award, which recognizes her outstanding and lifelong contributions to documentary and short filmmaking, carries a cash prize of ₹2 lakh, alongside a sculpture and a citation. The presentation will take place during the festival’s closing ceremony on September 30 at the Kairali Theatre in Thiruvananthapuram, with Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan presenting the honor.

As part of the festival's celebration of her career, IDSFFK will also screen 10 of her distinctive films, showcasing her unique visual language that seamlessly weaves together art, storytelling, ethnography, and oral traditions.
