The second Acting Diploma Film, directed by Mr. K. O. Akhil, has been successfully completed, marking another milestone in the Acting Department’s mission to bridge academic training with professional film practice.
The Acting Diploma Film serves as the final performance milestone for diploma students, designed to integrate acting theory, screen technique, and interdepartmental collaboration. Students applied methods derived from their intensive training program, exploring character development through observation, imagination, and physical embodiment.
After months of preparation, the project entered an intensive phase of rehearsals, dialogue sessions, and role development, followed by location-based shooting from October 13 to 21, 2025. Under Mr. Akhil’s direction, students participated in a highly collaborative and immersive production process, working alongside peers from Direction, Cinematography, Sound, Editing, and Art departments.
For the acting students, the experience reinforced essential screen-acting skills such as continuity, emotional precision, ensemble coordination, and professional adaptability. The project also fostered teamwork and a deeper appreciation for the multifaceted process of filmmaking.
This initiative stands as a successful demonstration of the institute’s integrated film education model, highlighting how performance, craft, and collaboration merge to create cinema that is both educational and artistically meaningful.
