Harikrishnan is from Kollam, Kerala. He completed his graduation with a B. Tech in IT from the prestigious MNIT Jaipur. Thereafter, he worked as a Software Engineer at Capgemini in Chennai. He then went on to study Sound Recording and Design at the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute in Kolkata. He assisted Academy Award-winning Sound Designer Resul Pookutty on most of his projects, primarily on location. Simultaneously, he has been working as a freelance Location Mixer based in Mumbai. Some of his works include: Rorschach, Kannur Squad, Puzhu, 800, Aadhaar, Aadujeevitham, Pushpa, Great Indian Kitchen, Sree Dhanya Catering, Chehre, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, Genius, Aspirants S1, and others.
